{"id":2864,"date":"2022-04-04T09:00:13","date_gmt":"2022-04-04T09:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/viron.com.mk\/test-post-1-14\/"},"modified":"2022-04-04T15:52:14","modified_gmt":"2022-04-04T13:52:14","slug":"test-post-1-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/viron.com.mk\/de\/test-post-1-14\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Energy Fight Drives Record Australian Exports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"abstract-item-text__d2d4dde8\"><strong>Commodity trade patterns are shifting rapidly because of the Russia-Ukraine war<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"abstract-item__53ceee34\">\n<div class=\"abstract-item-text__d2d4dde8\"><strong>Rising interest rates are increasing global risk and may hit economic growth<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Australia is gaining from an increase in global energy prices on prospects that the war in Europe will worsen global oil and gas shortages as nations avoid supplies from Russia, according to the Australian government forecaster.<\/p>\n<p>Western sanctions on Russian energy exports are causing a market disruption and will keep prices high, said the Australian Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources, which boosted its outlook for resources and energy exports this fiscal year and next.<\/p>\n<p>Some consumers have switched from Russia as a source of natural gas and LNG, it said, which points to increased thermal coal consumption amid the shortage of energy supplies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2841\" src=\"https:\/\/viron.com.mk\/app\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Australia-Energy-Boom-2022-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/viron.com.mk\/app\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Australia-Energy-Boom-2022-2.png 630w, https:\/\/viron.com.mk\/app\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Australia-Energy-Boom-2022-2-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<pre class=\"chart__source\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Source: Australian Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources\r\nNOTE: Figures are for the financial year to end-June<\/pre>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Australian Commodity Export Forecasts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Exports are expected to hit a record A$425 billion ($319 billion) in the year to June 30, 2022 (revised up by 12% from the December <a title=\"Fossil Fuels to Drive Record Australian Resources Revenue\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-12-19\/fossil-fuels-to-drive-record-australian-resources-revenue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">estimate<\/a>) before dropping to A$381 billion in the following 12 months on account of falling prices amid decreasing demand growth and elevated global output.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Commodity trade is shifting rapidly due to the war. Russian commodities that would normally head to developed nations are now being eschewed by some users, and may be diverted to China and India. China and India may then have less need for non-Russian cargoes, and these could be diverted to developed nations, the department said.<\/p>\n<p>Still, prices for coal and LNG are likely to fall noticeably after 2022 as global supply lifts and demand growth moderates. Meanwhile, energy export volumes are forecast to show only minor growth during the outlook period as record-high prices will impact adversely on near-term demand.<\/p>\n<p>The report noted that a risk to the outlook are higher global interest rates that may threaten global economic activity, a prospect that would dampen the resource and energy export forecasts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>AUSTRALIA RESOURCES QUARTERLY &#8211; KEY POINTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Iron ore prices are expected to average $118 a ton in fiscal 2022, down from $140 a year earlier. The forecast for export revenue was put at A$135 billion, down from A$158 billion a year earlier<\/li>\n<li>Metallurgical coal earnings in fiscal 2022 have been revised up to A$65 billion, with prices expected to rise to an average of $348 a ton, before cooling to $151 in fiscal 2027<\/li>\n<li>Thermal coal prices are forecasted to hit an average of $193 a ton in fiscal 2022, as buyers scramble for supplies, up from $76 the previous year, before falling to $71 by 2027.
